5 ways to Increase Art Sales on Social Media and Your Website

Okay, so you have a website and you post your work on Facebook and other social media but people aren’t buying. You don’t know why.
YOU’VE GOT TO GET SERIOUS ABOUT SELLING YOUR WORK.
This is what to do to achieve stellar results:
1st: On your website clearly list the price and have a buy button that leads directly to Paypal or Stripe. Most artists don’t so this and it’s hurting their sales ability. Nobody has time or desire to email you asking for a price, unless you’re Picasso or Bjork or Martha Graham and they’ve got a ton of loose cash burning a hole in their pocket.
2nd: Make the font large enough so that people who wear reading glasses can see it. Your patrons are often over 40 and cannot see your 8 or even 12 point font. I use 12 point font and I suggest that size.
3rd: Make it easy for the viewers to find your work and the info about you on your site. Cool, intricate sites are well, cool and intricate. They are not selling machines. Once you are a big name in the art world then you can leave the selling up to your rep and you can turn your website into the Guinness Book of World’s Records most intricate site ever.
4th On Facebook and all social media list contact info, whether your work is for sale, medium, dimensions AND THE PRICE. Don’t make people have to ask for the price. Make it easy for them.
5th: It’s better to get your work on people’s walls for a lower price than let your work collect dust because you’re holding out for the fat paycheck. The first piece I ever sold to a collector I sold for only $800. It was worth it. That piece is hanging in an attorney’s office Madison Square Gardens where lots of potential buyers of my other pieces see it.
